Here are two examples of the Cumana Floppy Disk System which is designed to fit in a cartridge slot in an Acorn Plus 1 (or Slogger RomBox Plus). Normally it goes in the rear slot allowing the other slot to be used for other cartridges. A disc drive, manual and utilities disk normally completed the package. The disk drive connects to the socket on the bottom right of the circuit board.

The Cumana Foppy Disc System uses a M5W1793-02P disc controller which is a Mitsubishi clone of the WD1793. The cartridge also has a sideways ROM socket, in this case used for a Slogger T2CU ROM, to transfer cassettes to disc. There is a blue battery on the left of the circuit board which is battery backup to the CDM6116AE2, 2KB static RAM. The HD1468 Real Time Cloack is to the left of the M5W1793 disc controller.

Both examples are marked "ACACIA COMPUTERS (c) 1984 WD1a" but the are not identical. The tracking and screen printing on the circuit boards vary. I have now idea who Acacia Computers were.
