RetroClinic DualOS contents of box
The DualOS kit contains:
RetroClinic Dual OS circuit board
The DualOS board is configured with 2 x 1Mbyte banks, one is MOS3.20, the other MOS 3.50. The switch selects the appropriate one at start up.
RetroClinic Dual OS Instructions
The instructions are simiple to follow, basically remove the old Acorn ROM, install the DualOS board and the switch, CNTL-BREAK and off you go! Also include is the MOS3.50 User Guide which covers the differences between MOS3.20 and 3.50, it also covers the changes to the applications icluded in the MOS ROM.
RetroClinic DualOS fitted in Master.
The RetroClinic DualOS board is a replacement for the Acorn ROM and the other ROM images contained in it (Terminal, View, ADFS, BASIC, Edit, Viewsheet and DFS). It allows the user to sellect MOS 3.20 (for compatability) or MOS 3.50 at startup using a switch. In particular the ADFS ROM has been changed replacing the Acorn SCSI code with support for IDE devices across the 1MHz bus (also changed in the MOS3.20 ROM). This enable the Master to use modern IDE drives and Compact Flash cards.
I decided to upgrade a Master 128 to the ultimate specification and istalled the Dual OS ROM in it.
