The SJ Research Transient Suppressor Kit consists of a pair of boxes designed to reduce the damage caused by high voltage spikes. They can absorb most of the energy from spikes induced in the network by electrical storms or power-line disturbances. The suppressors significantly reduce the likelihood of damaging expensive computer equipment. They are particularly important when the network has has sections of cable outside or between buildings or where the network cable runsalongside heavy duty power cable.
