ANT Internet Suite and Acorn InterTalk cover all the Internet options 10th January 1996: ANT Limited and Acorn Education have announced a joint plan to support Internet connectivity for all users of Acorn equipment from individuals to campus-wide networks. The ANT Internet Suite, ANT Internet Server and Acorn InterTalk (Release 2) will be complementary in their support for the use of the Internet in education and will inter-communicate. Both products are on show at the BETT'96 exhibition at the National Hall, Olympia from January 10th-13th. The ANT Internet Suite provides an easy-to-use set of integrated programs including a fully-featured World Wide Web browser, an electronic mail and news reader, an innovative 'drag and drop' FTP file transfer program and a Telnet terminal emulator supporting Minitel emulation, along with a number of utilities. Acorn InterTalk (Release 2) runs on RISC OS computers and connects Acorn computers to the Internet. ANT's software provides increased functionality for users of electonic mail, Usenet news, and an FTP file transfer client, for Internet users requiring even more comprehensive features. 'It is Acorn policy to encourage the development of products that co-exist with InterTalk on local area networks. Acorn has also been working, as ever, very closely with ANT Ltd to ensure a high level of inter-operation with the ANT Internet Suite,' said Acorn network product manager Mark Phillips. 'We are always pleased to work with Acorn to improve the range of products available to our customers,' said Alex van Someren of ANT Ltd. The ANT Internet Suite at BETT'96 Visitors to ANT's stand (number 340A/B) will receive a free demonstration copy of the full ANT Internet Suite and will subsequently be able to buy a single-user copy at the special price of UKP89 including VAT: after the show the price reverts to UKP99 plus VAT.
