As some of you know, at the recent Acorn World '94 exhibition, Acorn previewed its Web service which it plans to make generally available next year. As you would expect, we have a wealth of material that we want to make available from the companies that form the Acorn Computer Group (ACL, ARM and OM). To assist us, it would be useful to obtain some feedback from users of Web services. To give you an idea of what we have in mind, we will give access to the pages we've already created from 9am on Friday 25th November until 9am on Monday 5th December 1994. Please email comments and suggestions to webmas...@acorn.co.uk, starting the subject line with COMMENTS:. We would also like to know what you like and dislike on other services. We are also looking for a Web Master. If you have some time on your hands and would be interested in taking the bit between your teeth and maintaining our Web service for us, please email webmas...@acorn.co.uk, starting the subject line with WebMaster application:. We need the following from you: * how many hours a week could you spare to this project? * what experience have you got already at creating HTML? * have you got FTP, telnet and HTTP access to the Internet? * how expensive are you? (Of course, there is a possibility of some financial remuneration for the time spent on maintaining the pages!). Finally, to give us an indication of your ability, we would like you to create an opening page to the service. You can either take what we've done and spruce it up a bit, or start from scratch, but the page must convey the following: * this is the Acorn Computer Group * these are the companies that we have pages for * (optional) these are new and exciting pages such as Clan Acorn '94, Acorn World '95, etc. We look forward to hearing from you. _______________________________________________________________________________ aglo...@acorn.co.uk, moderator of comp.sys.acorn.announce.
