The joint promotion is designed to stimulate the use of CD ROM in schools to support national curriculum attainment targets by tying in classroom activity and a field trip to a local RSPB centre. Acorn's 'Birds' promotion extends the Department for Education's recent CD ROM initiative. Schools buying an Acorn Archimedes computer with CD ROM drive, the RSPB 'Birds' CD ROM (with resources for Key Stages Two, Three and Four) receive a free #50 RSPB voucher, redeemable against a class visit to an RSPB reserve.
