For those of you who missed our pre-launch announcement last week, Acorn Computer Group is pleased to announce the availability of its World Wide Web pages. The URL for the site is: http://www.acorn.co.uk/ Please feel free to use the comment facility to let us know if there is anything that you think that we should have there that we currently don't. For those of you who cannot resolve names to IP addresses, the IP address is (currently) 136.170.131.1. However, as I have pointed out in a recent posting to c.s.a.advocacy, this IP number is going to change later this year, so you are well advised to upgrade your software so that you *can* resolve names to IP addresses. For those of you who are using a WWW browser to access our FTP site (ftp.acorn.co.uk), you might be interested to know that the site can now be accessed through the URL: http://www.acorn.co.uk/acorn/store/ftp/ This has the advantage (mainly to us!) that it places less of a strain on our FTP server, and also doesn't leave dead FTP processes lying around (mainly caused by Netscape). Anonymous FTP will continue to be available from ftp.acorn.co.uk, but if you are using a WWW browser, I would appreciate it if you would use the HTTP URL instead. --Philip -- Philip Colmer, Senior Systems Administrator Acorn Computers Ltd, Acorn House, Vision Park, Histon, Cambridge, England, CB4 4AE.
