The Acorn A540 and R260 were the only Acorn computers, before the RiscPC) designed to support more than 4MB RAM. Thay had a maximum of 16MB. This was achieved by having 4MB on the motherboard and upto 3 RAMCards with 4MB on each card. The cards also have MEMC1a chips which work with the MEMC1a on the motherboard as a master and 3 slaves.
