Asynchronous Transfer Mode

Acorn were involved in Video on Demand (VoD) trials with Cambridge Cable (now part of VirginMedia), Acorn contributed the set top box. The protocol used was ATM because it was fast than TCP/IP and could be used over longer distances. ATM may have been used elsewhere but I have no details.
