Acorn Education Shows Its Unrivalled Understanding of 
Education and Technology at BETT 96 

 - Acorn's new division: the total IT supplier to education - 

Acorn Education will be demonstrating at BETT 96 how recent changes have 
strengthened its position as the leading supplier of information technology 
to UK schools.  Since its restructuring and rebranding within the Acorn 
Computer Group in September, Acorn Education has been developing a new and 
expanding portfolio of products and value-added services in its move towards 
a role as provider of total solutions to education. 

With over 16 years' experience of delivering effective IT to education, 
Acorn introduced changes because the use of IT in schools and colleges has 
changed. Combining its unrivalled understanding of both education and 
technology, along with the newest developments for the RISC operating system 
and industry standard solutions, Acorn Education offers curriculum and 
creative IT solutions which deliver real educational advantages at highly 
competitive prices.

Joining Acorn Education on Stand 241 at BETT 96 will be Tesco, demonstrating 
the success of the Tesco Computers for Schools scheme, about to commence 
its fifth consecutive year in 1996.  Work from schools which gained Acorn 
systems last year will be on display to illustrate the advantages of this 
highly successful scheme which has enabled more than a third of schools 
nationwide to acquire 21,000 additional Acorn computers and over 80,000 
items of computer-related equipment.  Acorn Education and Tesco will also be 
sponsoring the BETT 96 seminars and the Education IT Year Lunch. 

Acorn Education will be demonstrating total IT solutions in environments 
from primary, secondary and tertiary education and including desktop 
multimedia creativity as well as the industry-leading Pocket Book palmtop 
computer.  There will also be the latest in networking, from plug and play 
to site-wide, mixed platform SchoolServer solutions as well as Internet 
access and the latest on the information superhighway.  Acorn Education will 
once again be sponsoring the Special Needs Village and demonstrating special 
needs solutions on stand number SN19.  Finally, as usual, Acorn will be 
hosting a number of free theatre presentations covering topical issues and 
answering any questions regarding educational IT solutions.
