Digital Arts to develop Software for Acorn Publishing Platforms Digital Arts AG, the Swiss owned software development and publishing company, has entered into an agreement with Acorn Computers Ltd to develop professional software aimed at the printing, publishing and graphic design markets. The software will make full use of the ARM-based 32-bit RISC architecture and the RISC OS multitasking operating system of the Acorn Archimedes platforms. Simon Woodward, Acorn's Business Unit Manager for Professional Sales said "I am very pleased with the creation of this new partnership as it will further increase our portfolio of professional software to enable Acorn to increase its presence in this market. It will also add further value to the recently signed agreement with Kodak which will enable Acorn products to support Photo CD in the near future and it is quite possible that aspects of the Digital Arts technology will actually be integrated into the Acorn RISC OS multitasking operating system." Digital Arts AG has developed professional publishing software for both the Nextstep environment and Atari platforms. Among the authors working for the company are the teams that developed such industry standards as Didot Professional and Retouche Professional (CD), which are used by many hundreds of professional prepress and graphics design companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Benelux countries. _______________________________________________________________________________ aglo...@acorn.co.uk, moderator of comp.sys.acorn.announce.
