Direct access for Acorn enthusiasts to Product Marketing at Acorn With immediate effect, Acorn is pleased to announce today that it will offer a direct marketing input to Internet users on comp.sys.acorn. The EMail service can be addressed to P...@acorn.co.uk. This mailbox resides in Product Marketing and is read constantly. Any marketing related queries can be addressed to this mailbox and Product Marketing will be pleased to acknowledge receipt of such input. Depending upon the questions raised the query may be routed through to Customer Services on customer.services.acorn.co.uk. The query may be referenced through to the FTP server at Acorn, or we may respond on a direct basis to the EMail sender and/ or we may also post a response directly to comp.sys.acorn. Acorn reserves the right to not reply to queries for whatever reason or in the cases of either commercial or conflict of interests reasons, choose to issue a standard disclaimer type notice. The main purpose of this service and the occasional broadcast on comp.sys.acorn of communications from Product Marketing is to assist Acorn enthusiasts in gaining the maximum amount of use and satisfaction from their Acorn machines past, present and future! Based on the responses that Acorn had to the Risc PC launch, we are trying this out for an initial period of 3 months and in collaboration with the emerging Acorn Enthusiasts' Scheme, we will use this as a vehicle to communicate appropriate information to our enthusiasts as quickly as possible. In general this information will also be routed through to Acorn friendly press and will either be synchronised in time for release with the Acorn press, if it is something that is normally embargoed, or alternatively the Acorn press will follow after the event for those users who do not use Internet. Please forward this to any other Internet related user on other environments. Any general commentary, either via EMail or on the bulletin board, will be appreciated. I am sure all enthusiasts will appreciate that there are times when we cannot entertain a public conversation on certain subjects and if we feel that our commercial position is being prejudiced by people taking an inappropriate advantage of our openess, then we will withdraw the service completely. I am sure this will not be necessary based on our experiences with Risc PC and we look forward to the extension of this service after the end of the 3 month trial. As an appetite whetter the first item that we will be posting on this service will be an update on the Second Processor Cards for Risc PC and this will also be placed on the FTP server. Assuring you of our best intentions and happy tinkering! >From Product Marketing at Acorn 23 June 1994 _______________________________________________________________________________ aglo...@acorn.co.uk, moderator of comp.sys.acorn.announce.
